The [Mothers Day] Home Spa Ritual.
Mothers Day is one of those special days that all of us, regardless of beliefs and religions, come together as a family to celebrate special women in our own special way.
Choosing a gift is hard though! When asked mums often reply with “nothing”
In a perfect world we could whisk them away for a day of pure uninterrupted bliss. But this is the real world and some mums can barely go to the bathroom without some little fingers poking under the door.
So here are some last minute gift ideas (most of these can be picked up at your local Westfields shopping centre this Thursday night) that when put together, make a deliciously indulgent spa experience or can be purchased alone for smaller, quicker spa like rituals.
Get in the mood
There are few people who don’t enjoy a good candle. There is something about the soft flickering light from a candle that makes me instantly relax. Circa Home have released their second fragrance for the year in the form of a creamy coconut, fresh watermelon and sparkling grapefruit. Available in both the 260gm Classic Candle * ($32.95) and the Fragrance Diffuser ($42.95) this fragrance is fresh and sweet.
Circa Home candles ($32.95) have become a staple in my home
Get smooth & soak
Coffee is mums best friend Not only does she need to consume buckets of it to get through the day but using a coffee baed scrub can help invigorate the skin but improving circulation and getting rid of dry skin. This generously sized tub from C Lab & Co *($24.99) not only smells amazing with a heady mix of coffee grinds and citrus oil but is also amazing to use to scrub away all your sins prior to jumping into the bath for a soak.
The C Lab & Co scrub makes you smell like a strong cup of coffee
Whether mum is a bath or shower lover Jurlique always take care to create beautiful kind to skin products. The Refreshing Citrus range consists of a shower gel *($35) and body lotion * ($49) A few pumps of the shower gel into a running bath will have mum soaking in a sea of citrus bubbles
This range from Jurlique is also the perfect wake me up scent for the morning.
Save Face
One of the hottest global skincare brands come from the home of ritual bathing; Japan. Tatcha has finally made its way to our shores via Mecca. One of the most popular items across the entire Tatcha line are the Luminous Dewy Skin Mask *($66 for pack of 4) which promises plump, luminous skin bursting with long-lasting hydration. Relaxing in a warm citrusy bath with a Tatcha face mask.. Bliss.
Put your best foot forward
Pampering is all in the details, and mums hands and feet also need some love. Using a tool like the Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file * can help remove dry skin from heels and help get the skin ready for a good moisture surge. Its waterproof skin means that it can be used after a soak in the tub once the skin is already softened. What better time than in the tub to get legs nice and smooth with a good quality razor.
The Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file ($89.95) and a good razor such as this one from Venus can help things get super smooth.
Rest and relax
Once mum jumps out of the bath, dries off and slathers herself in the Jurlique Refreshing Citrus Body Lotion she will be ready to wrap herself in a big fluffy robe, pop on her slippers and relax for a few more moments before mum mode switches back on. I picked up this super plush robe and slippers from Peter Alexander on sale last week.
I couldn’t think of a lovelier gift that to be given some time a few quality products in an otherwise hectic life.
Regardless of what you do or don’t buy for mum, be sure to give her some time and attention this Sunday.
Happy Mothers Day
You should know that some of these products* were gifted to me however they are all products (except the Tatcha mask) that I have regularly used in the past and have given my tick of approval for quality. I was not paid to talk about or include these products into this post.
