2016 BEAUTY FAVOURITES
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2016 has come to an end and its been a big one in the beauty world..
We have seen some amazing collaborations between YouTubers and cosmetic junkies, some completely entertaining challenges completed by beauty gurus and trends that have changed the way we apply product to our face (anyone else doing more baking on their face than in the kitchen?)
In my little beauty world things have changed dramatically.. I somehow made the leap from beauty blogger to a vlogger of sorts.. Joining YouTube was a bit of a leap of faith for me but Ive enjoyed it way more than I ever thought I would.
Once again Ive managed to keep things afloat despite my busy schedule and its been incredibly rewarding! Ive discovered some amazing products, experienced some really fun events and made even more amazing beauty obsessed friends.
Highlights include; Being absolutely spoiled with a lush hotel overnight stay courtesy of Avene, being invited to participate in the social media mentoring program with Clarisonic, dancing my booty off at the fabulous Benefit brows launch party and much more!
In the video below I got through and tell you all about my favourite beauty products of the year, if you scroll down past the video there is a little sneak peak of some of the products.
One of my favourite haircare products was the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oatmilk. I picked up my first can in Paris this year and was blown away by the quality, which is why I jumped at the offer to work with the brand later on in the year,
Benefit Cosmetics smashed all brow rivals out of the water this year with a repackaging and launch of so many new products.. while the whole line was super cool, the KaBrow and Goof Proof Products were my favourites
Just before I went to France I was introduced to Avene, my knowledge of their products was limited to just a suer hydrating serum that I still enjoy using. After learning all about the brand I made sure to pick up a whole bunch of products in City Pharma,
Philosophy were another skincare favourite this year. Their anti aging peel really helped to keep my skin looking and feeling more smooth. Plus their packaging is so clean and well designed its a pleasure to keep on your bathroom shelves.
This years hottest collab had to be the Jaclyn Hill and Becca Champagne Glow collaboration. While there were a few hiccups (the eyeshadow debacle was a little painful to watch play out) the rest of the launches were well received!.
2016 was the year that I embraced pigments, and my favourite of the bunch was this glorious shimmery one which Tan from MAC. It can be used subtly or quite liberally to create a super shiny look that makes any ordinarily neutral eye look amazingly glam!
The standout contouring product for me this year was from Smashbox, this trio of pencils blended into the skin so well to create a fairly impossible to mess up look.
I hope you enjoyed 2016, and I look forward to sharing so much new content over the next few months in early 2017!!!

January 5, 2017Loved checking out your faves! I really should give Avene a proper go. I've enjoyed the products I've used but probably haven't used them long enough to see the full effects.
