NARS Killer Heels Mini Lipstick Set $72
One word… NARS! The Killer Heels Lipstick Set is part of the Stephen Klein limited edition collection available exclusively in Australia through Mecca Maxima. It consists of 5 mini lipsticks (original formula not audacious formula) in a variety of shades and finishes.
The set contains very wearable, muted tones and avoids many “fashion” shades sticking to classic, easy to wear and perfect for “everyone” hues. At $72 its one of the priciest sets in in this list but if you’re a die hard NARS devotee you recognise the quality associated with the brand. Shades include, in order, Little Darling (light beige) Joyous Red (copper), Jungle red (medium red), Fire down below (true dark red) Mayflower (rosey plum)
Available instore and online at Mecca Maxima
Nudestix Toocute 3 Mini Lip or Cheek Pencil Kit $31
Some time ago I featured the then new brand Nudestix on Lipstick n Linguine. Since then they have included many more products to the line. This trio in its limited edition tin features three pencils designed to be used on your lips or cheeks in on trend shades; whisper (nude), mystic (mauve nude) and Satan (pinkish red) Each set comes with a mirror in the multiuse tin and a good quality sharpener. Nudestix are great for travel and are super creamy and pigmented lipstick in a pencil form.
Available online at Sephora
Marc Jacobs The Sofia Petites Le Marc set $60
Here is one of the products that is really the cream of the crop. The Marc Jacobs Le Marc Sofia Petites set is truly stunning! For about $20 more than the price of one full size Le Marc lipstick (3.6gm) you get 5 mini lipsticks (combined weight 8.5g) in what I believe in one of the best formulas on the market today all cased in a gorgeous little patent leather pouch.
You can read a lot more about the formula of these lipsticks here
Everything about this set screams luxury. From the super sparkly cardboard packaging to the glossy patent leather pouch (which can totally be used as a little evening clutch) The Sofia Petites Le Marc set contains (as seen below) a range of creamy, long wearing lipstick in the shades Infamous (rosey mauve) Boy Gorgeous (Dark Magenta Red), So Sofia (Bright coral red) Blow (Burgandy) Dashing (cool red)
Available exlusively instore at Sephora or online from Marc Jacobs beauty
Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Kiss Lip Set $62
Another stand out set is from the one and only Kat Von D. The Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Lipstick Set is not for the faint hearted. The set of 7 mini studded consists of some of the brands best sellers. There are some gorgeous bright fashion colours such as a true orange, gunmetal and of course that Lavender!
I think its great value at $62 which is roughly the size of 2 full size lipsticks (3gm) you get 8.4gm of permanent shades. Shades include Wolvesmouth ( metallic berry) Sexer (hot pink) Noble ( light petal pink) NaYeon (Gunmetal) Bachelorette (pink red) Halo (orange) Coven (Lavender)
The major drawcard however is the completely new and limited edition full size lipstick in the shade Gold Blooded. Unfortunately my photos don’t do the shade justice. The lipstick based is a beautifully bright good red and contains gorgeous shimmering gold flecks which are much more apparent on the lip. So in addition to over 8 gm of mini lipsticks you also get a full sized product in the limited edition white studded packaging.
Available exlusively instore at Sephora
Kit Cosmetics The Fab Four Lipgloss Set $32
Technically this item is a gloss, but Kit make some of the best lip glosses. This set contains 4 full sized lipgloss tubes with a doe foot applicator in a range of shades. There are some pretty neutrals here as well as two lovely bright shades.
Available instore and online at Mecca Maxima
Bare Minerals Love At First Kiss set $53
The Bare Minerals Love at First Kiss Lipstick set is amazing value. For just over $50 you get ten mini Marvelous Moxie lipsticks in a beautiful variety of shades and finishes. I particularly love the packaging of these as the lipsticks are encased in alternating solid gold coloured and black with gold detailing tubes.
In my opinion the neutrals really shine as the stars in this collection with a rage of pink nudes and dusty pink to mauve shades. While their are a few pops of colour shown above; Risk it all (pink) Live Large (red) and Lead the way (berry)
Shades include; Lead The Way, Hit the Mark, Risk it all, Live Large, Be Brilliant, Get Ready, Go the distance, Rise Up, Make Your Move, Do it All
Available instore and online at Mecca Maxima
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Holiday Liquid Lipstick $US18
Jeffree Star is the name on many a beauty lovers lips (almost quite literally) since launching his company with some amazingly coloured Velour Liquid Lipsticks his company and range of products have gone from strength to strength.
His holiday offering were stunning featuring an opaque white shade, christmas tree green, gold flecked red and these two muvey shades; Doll Parts and Androgyny. Doll Parts looks quite bright on the company’s webpage however it is much more muted and dusty in real life. Androgyny is a lovely dark plum mauve. If you’re not aware of the formula, they go on opaque at one swipe, and seem quite wet at first but do dry to a velvet matte finish.
Available online at Jeffree Star Cosmetics with limited availability through Lulu & Lipstick, Lipstick Republic & RY
Bobbi Brown Art Stick Trio ($99)

US EXLUSIVE Sephora Give Me More Lip $US59
