I was tagged the other day by Lipstick Addict to do a Lipstick themed post. In the past I havnt really been a big lipstick (in its truest form) fan. preferring more sheer finishes and therefore have stuck more to gloss formulations however, with lip products coming so far in terms of finishes and formulas in the past few years ive really become a bit of a fan.

While I dont have a lot of lipstick (compared to some) I do find that in my general lip products I seem to stick to what I like.. that is usually pinks and in particular deeper blue toned pinks and deep, bold reds. Only this past 6 months have I really forayed into the coral/orange side of the colour spectrum and am really enjoying it.

So here we go…

1. How many lipsticks do you own?.

Not counting all the balms, stains, laquers, crèmes and chubby sticks my lipsstick count in approximately 22. This does not include however the 3 or 4 that are probably hidden somewhere in handbags and clutches after being put in there for a night out and then forgotten.

2.What was the first lipstick you owned?

Oh.. the first lipstick I actually bought myself was probably just after high school and it was a Maybelline Wet shine lipstick.

3. What is your favourite Lipstick brand?

I dont really have a favourite.. I guess its not one of those things I feel really passionate about. Im fond of Revlon and Clinique products. Nyx do amazing lipsticks that are so reasonably priced. If you looked at my collection you would see that there is no dominant brand. And they are almost all drugstore to midrange brand. No real high end brands there.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?

Probably a tie between Modelco “true red” and Revlon “certainly red” Both these shades are a beautiful pop of colour and can be easily made more sheer with some lip balm.

5. What is your favourite finish?

Hmm in only new to the matte lips thing.. but im digging it. I guess it depends on the look of the whole face. Sometimes in spring a glossy lip is lovely but generally it is a satin or matte finish lately.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?

It was a Revlon colourburst lip butter in tutti frutti. However my newest lipstick is an Illamasqua one in Brink that was sent to me to try out.

7. How many lip products do you have in your bag? (Including balms and glosses)

1 lip balm, two lipsticks and a gloss. so that makes five. I also have two lipbalms by the bed and three on my desk at work.

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?

Please refer to question 4.. and add Nyx round lipstick in Chic Red

9. How do you store your lipsticks?

Theyre all stored flat in a little set of drawers kept in a cupboard. I am currently trying to think of a really cute and compact way to store it all somewhere where it looks pretty.
