Welcome to MASCARA MADNESS WEEK!!
If you were to take a survey of all makeup wearing women, many would say that Mascara is one of the essentials. Whether it’s the only product you use or it’s part of a whole “face” of makeup nothing works like a good coat or two of mascara to open up the eyes, define the lashes and enhance the colour of your eyes.
So this week here at Lipstick and Linguine we are celebrating mascaras of all formulas, wand types and price points with MASCARA MADNESS!!
Every day this week I’ll be reviewing a different mascara and sharing the best and worst in my collection.
And I’ll be kicking it off today with one of the newest mascaras in my collection.
The Jane Iredale Longest Lash was kindly sent to me after I was contacted by Jane Iredale on Instagram (thanks so much!!!)
I didn’t think much of the little sample sized tube other than the fact that it would be cool for travel purposes.
When I opened it I was so surprised at the size of the brush. It might be the largest and densest (is that a word) brush I’ve ever used. Everytime I push the brush back into the tube I’m surprised that it actually fits. It’s a traditional type bristle brush as opposed to the type of brush that Benefit They’re real is famous for.
The brush reminds me a lot of the one that belongs to the Benefit Bad Gal lashes but in my opinion this formula is superior as it doesn’t flake like Bad Gal always has on me.
The formula is on the dry side, there has been no need for me to wipe of excessive product as the thin neck of the tube seems to do that for you. It’s extremely black but that is not the best feature of this product
There is ZERO clumping whatsoever with this mascara, like not even two lashes stuck together. Nothing else has achieved such separation with my short but dense lashes. I was gob smacked at this feature as unpicking clumps from my lashes is a daily process for me regardless of the mascara I use.
This mascara does not give extremely dramatic volumising results but is buildable, lengthening and long lasting. Having said that I usually apply two coats and it definately does thicken the lashes but it’s definate strength is length. The formula contains visible little strands that attach to your lashes to add length, you can see them in the photo above.
All in all this was a great start to Mascara madness.. Until mascara madness Monday!
I’d love for you to get involved in Mascara Madness by using the hashtag #lnlmascaramadness on your shots of your most loved (or least loved) mascaras on Instagram and let me know why you love them.
