February Beauty Favourites
Its time to reveal my February Beauty Favourites! We had an extra day to discover beauty bits and pieces this February! I say it every month but this month just flew by! We got back into the swing of daily life, celebrated with our sweethearts and some of us sweltered through the end of Summer.
This February, I was lucky enough to meet the glorious woman behind the Beauty Blender brand, got well and truly addicted to the amazing snapchat filters (follow me lipsticknling) aaaaaand started a YouTube channel.
The YouTube world is all new and exciting for me and Im not sure how often I will be uploading but so far i have been enjoying giving you a more personal view of the products Im reviewing. For the most part the response has been positive. Im not sure that my life with full time work that I will ever have time to create beautifully edited content like some of my favourite YouTubers but for now the raw and barely edited footage Ive been uploading has given me a taste for it.
Anyway, my favourites this month are a mix of new and rediscovered products that have kept me coming back for more.
Im in an inbetweenie stage at the moment in terms of tan. My summer tan is fading fast but Im not quite pale yet, So I have found myself with a drawer full of foundations that either made me look like a ghost or super orange. I picked up the Too Faced Born This Way foundation partly because Sarah from Bows & Pleats continues to rave about it and Im so glad I did! I can see why people compare it to the Estee Lauder Double Wear as there are similarities however I don’t find it quite as long wearing or full coverage. Used with my trusty Beauty Blender the foundation goes on smoothly and lasts all day to give you a lovely (almost) flawless finish.
This month I was obsessed with finding great beauty buys for fifteen dollars, two of the products featured in the post quickly became faves! The Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge is seriously so so good for washing your makeup sponges! Its liquid enough to get right into the sponge but still rinses out easily! I received bottles of it for Christmas and have not looked back!
The Australis Metallix eyeshadows are seriously good! They feel like a creme – powder hybrid and the beautiful metallic shades are reflective without being too glittery. At under ten dollars they rival much more expensive options and really give a beautiful pop of colour on the lids. Ive managed to track down 3 shades and hope to get more.
With the super matte lip seeming to be sticking around for the long haul those of us with dryer lips can suffer with flakiness and cracks. Exfoliating the lips regularly along with a good lip balm can help prevent and treat lips. Frank Body have released a gorgeously sweet lip scrub in their signature coffee flavour. The scrub contains coffee grinds, sugar crystals all in a gentle emollient oil based balm and comes with a macadamia infused tube of lipbalm.
Earlier this month I featured the newly released Rimmel The Only 1 Lipsticks. I loved all the shades i reviewed but favourite definitely had to be the shade Naughty Nude. A beautiful dusty pink nude shade this lipstick had me reaching for it again and again this month.
Another lip favourite this month were the Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencils. The two shades I received (Belle and Royal) covered all lip necessities this month. Belle is a lovely brown based nude while Royal is a super intense but wearable red. The Nudestix pencils are super smooth and pigmented and I love how portable they are
I have owned the Benefit Browzings for quite a while and recently got a new one. I used to only use the powder part as I liked the soft look it gave. However, after visiting Benefit HQ and getting some tips from Benefit’s National Brow Artist Hannah Terrett I became a convert to the super pigmented wax that comes in the kit. The wax performs just as well (if not better) than the leading brow pomade to give a long lasting bold brow.

March 8, 2016Yayyy!!! I am so happy I could influence one of your purchases! I'm glad you liked the Born This Way foundation. I am always worried when people pick it up because it has received such mixed reviews on the internet. It definitely isn't as long-lasting or high coverage as EL Double Wear but I think the trade off for a really natural looking finish is what did it for me and it blends out so well. It is still my GO TO foundation for when I need to look flawless and it photographs beautifully. What shade did you end up getting? I am almost out of mine (light beige) and will soon need to repurchase! Cryyyyy

March 8, 2016I also forgot to say I went through a phase of being totally obsessed with brow zings and I think it's still the best travel kit out there for brows! YAS!
