October favourites; Clinique, Sigma, Bobbi Brown, Becca
October was a blast! We started the month off in one of the most wonderful places on Earth (take me back!)
I did a whole bunch of shopping of new beauty bits and bobs, I got to attend the Sephora Holiday showcase (amaze!) and I discovered lots and lots of great products.
I finally tried some products from the brand Skinstitut and totally fell in love with the Skinstitute Ultra Firming Eye and Neck Cream. This stuff is seriously thick and nourishing. It was a little heavy for my neck area but was amazing for under my eyes ( a problem area for me) I am using it overnight and love the plumped out effect each morning which makes concealing my under eye darkness (my new fave is below) easier without the horrible crepey skin effect.
The warmer weather always makes me turn to pastel and bright nails. One polish that Ive come back to again and again is Edna from The Nail Lab. This shade just screams spring racing to me!
I think Ive found a new holy grail product in the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector which is even better than the original corrector! You can see more about it here.
So delicious! The Becca Jaclyn Hill collab is amazing. I picked Champagne Pop in Hawaii and am so glad I did. I had no intentions to buy it until I saw it in person and was blown away at how pretty and pigmented it is!
You will see more about this product on the blog in the coming weeks but you can read more about what I bought while away here.
Another holidays purchase but this one was totally planned. I had wanted to try the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask since forever but it is so pricey and I had never had the chance to try a sample. So I bought it while at the duty free store in Waikiki. I love this so much. It seriously so intensely hydrates your skin that it feels transformed overnight. I am way tempted to use it every night but.. you know.. money. Im using it once a week to give my skin a wake up boost. My makeup never sits quite as well as the day after Ive used this. The problem is that it really makes me want to try everything else from Origins!
Ive said it once and Ill say it again! Clinique makeup is seriously underrated. These Long Last Soft Matte lipsticks (Matte Beauty and Matte Peony) are some of the softest, most luxurious feeling lipsticks Ive ever tried. I think the price of Clinique in Australia is one of the reasons we don’t hear so much about it, as for a few dollars more you can get a NARS or Marc Jacobs lippie but the quality of these are amazing! Ive been wearing Matte beauty quite a bit this month which is a soft dusty pink
The lipstick Ive worn more than any others this month, however is non other than this cute little Marc Jacobs mini in the shade Role Play! This is my first Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick and Im pretty impressed at the texture of these. Its somehow long lasting yet sheer and comfortable. Im considering buying this one in full size (and if im considering spending THAT much of my own money on a single lipstick then it must be good)
Despite my love of makeup, on a daily basis I rarely have time to properly contour. But the Clinique Chubby Contour Stick makes it a little easier, two swipes under my cheek bones with some blending and my no fuss contouring is done for the day. The stick is quite pigmented but does sheer out quite easily for a blended look. Ive been loving it just because of its ease but I would have loved if another cooler toned shade would have been available.
And finally! I’ve left this one til last because its a bit of a game changer for me! Ive used a beauty blender daily for the last 7 or so years and until a couple of months ago I would have argued that it was the absolute best way to apply your foundation. However, when Sigma kindly sent me one of their 3DHD Kabuki brushes I thought it was time to try something different. Oh. My. God! I never liked foundation brushes because I always found that it was too cakey and often left brush strokes but this brush is giving me lovely, even and light coverage using my trusty Itcosmetics CC+ cream. Ive been using this everyday and have been truly converted to using a kabuki brush! ( I don’t even know myself!)
And thats it! Another month done and dusted! Cant wait to see what I discover next month!!
