Australis AC On Tour Cream Kit
If you had have told me twelve months ago that there would be a good, affordable, drugstore cream contour alternative I probably wouldn’t have believed you!
But as the contour craze shows no sign of slowing down it was just inevitable that the drugstore brands would have to up their game to offer beauty lovers.. Earlier this year I shared with you the original Australis AC On Tour Palette and found it well worth the roughly $15 price tag especially if your skin was medium to dark.
Well Australis have expanded on the range to now include a cream contour kit as well as a lighter version of the original.
The new Australis AC On Tour Contouring & Highlighting Cream Kit($24.95) is very similar to the original, the packaging is the same size with 6 pans of different toned product. The biggest improvement on the palette is the inclusion of a giant mirror in the top of the palette which seemed a strange exclusion in the first edition.
What is included is 6 shades of smooth and pigmented cream product. It reminds me of a smooth, creamy concealer.
Like the powder version the top row are lighter and are intended to be used as highlighting shades.
Shade 1 is a yellow “banana” shade designed to be used under the eyes. In my experience this shade works well for those with warm yellow/golden under tones but on me it tends to remain yellow looking even after blending.
Shade 2 and 3 are great for me depending on my level of tan and whether Im going for a subtle or more dramatic look that day.
The bottom row; contains 3 darker shades, those with darker skin tones may find shade four too light. For me personally shade 5 works well to help give a subtle contour, while shade 6 is slightly dark.
The best part about these though? I can mix and match the shades together to achieve the best shade for me, which is something a little more difficult with a powder product.
The product itself its smooth and soft, a little goes a long way as its quite richly pigmented. The formula is quite easy to blend, I found it works best with a sponge, but as mentioned only a little product is needed to achieve a subtle shade effect.
There is a good range of shades here for different skin tones but what is missing in my opinion is a cooler toned shade like a taupe or greige which is essential for shading especially for very pale girls. All the shades included can be a little muddy or orange if you over do it.
At a much lower price point the Australis AC On Tour Contouring & Highlighting Cream Kit is a great alternative for those who cant justify the price of a high end product or as a beginner contour palette.
At the time of publishing the Australis AC On Tour Contouring & Highlighting Cream Kit is available at the introductory price of just over $17 at Priceline.

October 30, 2015Gah I feel like all of these shades are wayyyy to warm for contouring. That's the annoying thing about contouring palettes--it seems like you can never use all of the shades.

November 2, 2015I hope they release a medium shade since this is a bit too light for me! Also, your blog theme is beautiful, where did you get it?
