Three of a kind. Micellar water

Micellar water is not a brand new concept. French women have been using market leader Bioderma for years, those of us not lucky enough to live in the land of baguettes and cheese have had to stock up on the do-all product wen travelling in Europe. However a little over a year ago Bioderma became readily available in Australia and a range of companies came out with their own version of the cleansing water.

Micellar water works to cleanse and tone your skin. The cleansing property of the water is in its chemical structure which somehow helps the product and the cotton pad you use pick up and trap dirt and oils from your skin. The formulas are so gentle that they dont need to be rinsed off and work well to not only remove your makeup at the end of the day but also helps to fix any mascara slips or caked up makeup during the day.

Here are three of the best that I have tried.

bioderma

Bioderma Sensibio is the original and one of the pricier options available. Bioderma have a couple of different versions of the product some suited more to oily and others sensitive skin. Im currently loving the new larger 500ml bottles with the pump pack ($39.95) which not only helps to prevent evaporation (espeically good for forgetful people like me who repeatedly leave the lids of everything)

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water ($12.99) is much more affordable and readily available in supermarkets and chemists. IN my opinion its a fairly good dupe for the Bioderma and is just as effective at removing makeup, including waterproof mascara. Its perfume free and is safe for eyes and sensitive skin.
garnier

Swisse is the newest kid on the block. Its offering is cucumber scented and not quite as clear as the other two. This one takes makeup off easily but I have found that it irritates my eyes ever so slightly if I rub my eyes after using it. ($10.99)

There are options available at every price point. And all of them are effective at removing makeup and refreshing skin.

Each of these products are available at Priceline now.

Garnier is definitely my favourite for the price but I love bioderma too! The Garnier mini ones strangely come in at over 100ml so they aren't even travel friendly so I'm taking my mini bioderma for my honeymoon! x

Once my Bioderma stash runs out, I'll definitely be checking out the Garnier micellar water!
