Spotlight on Max Factor
Max Factor is a brand that is synonymous with old school glamour and bomb shell beauty. Since 1909 Max Factor has been making up some of the most beautiful faces of the world and revolutionising the beauty world (did you know that Max Factor actually coined the term Make up!)
Some classic products have remained best sellers throughout the decades and some new products have become modern classics.
Here is a short list of some of the classic Max Factor products as well some of my current favourites.
The Skin Luminizer foundation definitely delivers on its promise of illuminated looking skin, the cream foundation and illuminator blend helps to fill in pores and give an almost airbrushed look to the skin. Applied with a beauty blender this foundation applies like a dream particularly after using Max Factors Facefinity all day primer. This primer is a pretty close dupe to another (very expensive) primer in my opinion and helps to create an even base for your makeup
If any company knows the power of a red lip its Max Factor, just like their ambassador Marilyn Monroe, Max Factor does good red lip. The iconic red can be captured with a lipstick such as The Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday paired with the Gold Lip Liner in Fire to get a really clean and precise edge.
If you’re after a long wearing red pout the Lipfinity longwearing lip colours offer all day wear with a comfortable clear coat to seal in colour.

The new Excess Shimmer eyeshadow pots are gorgeous. The mousse like texture of these eyeshadows make them super blendable and easy to use. The range of muted and neutral shades mean that even though these are really shimmery they’re still very wearable.
They can be smudged into the lashline to create a smokey look, sheered out for a wash of colour or built up for a little more drama. The shade pearl looks great as a brow bone highlight.
Creme Puff Pressed Powder is another one of the iconic products from Max Factor. Wait… iconic might not do it justice. Women around the world have been using it to “powder their noses” for over 60 years and remains one of Max Factors most loved products.
Its a great powder for blotting and mattifying the skin and also gives sheer coverage. I often use this to set concealer to prolong its wear.
New in the Creme Puff family is the Creme Puff blush which was released earlier this year. The blush is gorgeous with its marbling. the shimmery shade that is combined with the pink helps to give a really beautiful sheen to the skin which is illuminating while not being over the top or glittery.
Other favourites of mine include the seriously underrated Masterpiece precise mascara which with its strange looking wand is of of the best lash lifting and defining mascaras Ive ever used and the ultimate wedding proof eyeliner the Colour X-pert waterproof eyeliner.
If you’ve never used or considered Max Factor makeup I really urge you to give it a go.. after all generations of women cant be wrong!
