Rimmel Apocalips Matte Lip Velvet
The Rimmel Apocalips range have gone matte! Well sort of! They’re more velvety than pure matte on first application but once you either blot or allow the product to wear off a bit you’re left with a super matte look.
The original Apocalips were one of the first products I ever reviewed! Flashback! See that review here!
There are four shades in the range
Meteoric matte is a vampy berry shade that is perfect for the cooler months. For the purpose of these swatches I haven’t used a liner, but when wearing them out I really suggest lining the lips first as these super pigmented shades can get a bit messy.
Burning lava is a deeply pigmented beautiful red. This is probably my favourite shade as its deep but still bright enough to give a real statement lip
Burning lava wore well and didn’t go patchy until about 6 hours after applying.
Orange-ology is an orange red which is very similar to MAC Lady Danger, it’s super bright and wearable and not as pigmented as the two darker shades.
Atomic Rose is the most neutral of all the shades. It’s a soft rose pink. This is the least matte shade and is slightly less pigmented than the other shades. Very pretty and wearable with most looks Atomic Rose is my second favourite shade
The Apocalips lip velvet are available now at Priceline and selected department stores and retail at $15.95
