Wet n Wild matte lip cover – summer favourites
Wet n Wild lipsticks are the bomb! Officially known as “Wet n Wild Matte Lip Cover” they are super saturated pigmented at a crazy cheap price point.. yes please! While they may be impossible to track down instore in Australia there are a few options online that can have these babies on the way to you for less than the price of a cup of coffee.
Here are the four summer bright shades that have had me reaching for them over and over again!
Left to right Cherry Picking, Purty Persimmon, Don’t Blink Pink and Pinkerbell.
The formula of these lipsticks is very longwearing but a little dry and difficult to apply if you have dry or chapped lips.
Dont blink pink is certainly bright. Its a supersaturated and crazily pigmented hot pink lipstick. Its almost neon in its brightness. The shade wears well through out the day and looks amazing when paired with a simple eye!
Purty Persimmon is a bright, medium based orange red. Its so gorgeous on and is a lovely alternative to the basic red or pink summer time lip. My photo below casts it as quite red but as you will see in other photos it is quite orange.
Pinkerbell is your classic barbie pink. Its super opaque and can be a little much for those who are used to a sheerer formula. It is matte and opaque in one swipe but is not overly drying.
Cherry Picking is a deep pink red, its similar to Revlons Cherries in the snow except its more saturated with pigment and is longer wearing. This is one of my favourite shades as it is such a strong pop of colour that gives retro loving girls like me the ultimate pinup lip!
I love the formula of these and at the price point they are amazing quality.
As with most products there are some negatives although with these hippies they’re quite minute. The packaging on these is quite cheap and the lids crack very easily when transported in in a hand bag. In addition to that you need to be quite careful when using the product (don’t press too hard when applying to your lips) as the fairly dry nature of it can cause it to snap in the tube (I’ve had this happen and its so frustrating. Lastly the lipstick has a flat base (i.e. not a tapered point) and therefore can be difficult to apply if you have very thin lips.
Dont blink pink, purty persimmon, cherry picking, Pinkerbell.
I bought these from BeautyJoint at approximately $3 each.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
Until next time
