Its been a week since we returned and so i thought i would show you all the great high end items i picked up while away in Melbourne, We didn’t do a lot of shopping per se but popped in and out of the shops as we walked past or saw something we were interested in. I purchased some great leopard print shoes amongst some other bits and pieces but Im sure you’re all most interested in seeing the beauty items that i picked up.
The Nars Audacious Lipsticks hit stores just before we went away and i headed into Mecca to look at and swatch some of the shades that interested me. Online swatches of Greta and Geraldine had me interested but once i got in store i was mesmerised by all the amazing shades. I was sad to find that Geraldine had been sold out and Greta just didn’t wow me on the lips and so i ended up going for two completely different shades; Grace and Lana. Swatches and review are to come.
I also headed to MAC to look at the much hyped Soft and Gentle skin finish but walked away without it but with two little bullets in my hand in the shades Morange (I’ve been lusting after this one for ages) and a gorgeous pink red shade called Relentlessly Red (this one is right up my alley) I also picked up a sample pot of the strobe cream and have been loving it under my HG Double Wear foundation
After seeing rave reviews for some of the products from Josie Maran some time ago i had been waiting very patiently for them to hit Australia. I had thought that they would land soon with the imminent arrival of Sephora but they surprisingly hit Kit stores instead. I picked up the Pure Argan Milk and one of the Coconut water-colour cheek gelees in the shade Poppy Paradise. Once i saw those glossy little pots of colour i knew i wouldn’t have been able to walk away.
And finally in the list of high end beauty products, i visited the Clinique counter to pick up the chubby stick for cheeks that has been on my wish list since they hit and ended up bypassing it after i saw how similar it was to other creme blushes i have and went with the Cheek Pop blush pop in the shade Peach Pop! Ive been lusting after this for so long and it was so worth the wait! The only problem is that the powder which is pressed in a pretty gerbera shape is too pretty to use!!
I also got a couple of interesting items from Daiso and the Queen Victoria markets.
From daiso I picked up some black lash glue. I’m hoping this might make them look a little more natural as gaps of skin won’t be so apparent. I also got this intriguing plastic item that is supposed to be a lash guard which will help to avoid mascara slips and smudges
I can across a stall at the markets selling the konad nail stamping systems and so picked up a new plate as well as a new dual ended stamper and scraper. Can’t wait to play with these
Although these aren’t beauty items i thought i would give a special mention to some awesome Mimco items i picked up at David Jones during the additional 20% off sale. I saw the gorgeous patchwork pouch a few months ago in my local David Jones and was instantly in love. I loved the detailing and as the colours correspond with my current Mimco handbag i thought it would be a great addition to my collection. However, at almost $80 i thought it was a bit (way) too much. Just before we left for Melbourne i saw the same pouch in another store discounted to $50 and almost purchased it.. but walked away another time. Lucky i did as while we were away there was an additional 20% discount sale announced and lo and behold as i browsed the wares in the Bourke st mall DJs i saw it hidden behind some of the other items. Guess which little duck ended up paying less than half price! yipee! I also picked up another plain pouch as i have been using them a lot lately as a compact alternative to a wallet.
