Pale girl problem.. Solved!
Its no secret that sensible ultra pale girls tend to avoid most bronzers like the plague, even the lightest touch with contouring brush can leave us looking patchy, muddy and orange. Our olive skinned and tanned friends apply bronzer and look like sunkissed goddesses with defined features and leaving us looking more than a little “Oompa Loompa”
I have tried a few types of bronzers from the shimmery mineral loose powders to some much hyped chocolate hued matte pressed powders all with limited success.
So after searching high and low for that certain product that will give me that glow I’ve come to the conclusion that the following two products are perfect for those of is who are a little afraid of looking too artificial or over the top.
The great news is that both these products are super affordable. If you’re in the US they’re super easy to find too. If you’re in Australia like me then you will need to do a little ebay searching (or purchase from a website)
Here we go!
NYC – Smooth skin, bronzing face powder: 720A Sunny.
Lots and lots of words in this products name!! It’s commonly known as NYC Sunny bronzer and is a firm favourite of beauty blogger Emily Noel. I like the warm tone of the powder which looks a lot like Benefit’s Hoola or the Chocolate bronzers from Too Faced but the key difference here is that it is a whole
lot less pigmented. This sounds like a bad thing right? Wrong! The fact that it is quite sheer means that you can’t build it up too much as easily as others.
Under the cheeks bones this gorgeous sheer colour helps to sculpt the face by adding a little depth and dimension
NYX Powder blush: Taupe
This taupe blush is a little different, blushes are usually pink right? Well this cool toned brown/taupe is perfect if you want a subtle sculpt without adding too much warm ness to your complexion. Again this is fairly sheer when applied lightly with a contouring brush. I prefer this shade in winter with my darker blushes and lips as it works perfectly with
Berry and jewel tones.
Swatched; top NYX taupe, bottom
NYC Sunny.
What do you think of my choices?? Are there any other bronzers you think I should try?

September 8, 2014These look great. My fav bronzer is the Body Shop Honey Bronzer in light and I love the Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Hollow for contouring. It's another great combo for us pale ladies.
