Thebalm cosmetics; How 'Bout Them Apples – First look and swatches.
Finally! She is about to land on Australian shores! Thebalm have done it again in producing a truly lust worthy product to make our beauty routines even more fun. This is the gorgeous How ‘Bout Them Apples cheek and lip cream palette. And believe me when I tell you that it’s sweet!!
The first thing you will notice about this palette is.. well.. How ’bout that packaging! The palette is gorgeous! Its the same hard cardboard packaging that you will recognise if you have any of the Instain blushes or eyeshadow palettes from Thebalm. Thebalm have put two of my most favourite things together on the front of this palette; gorgeous retro pinup girls and pugs!
Once you open the palette you will see six gorgeous round pots of brightly coloured crème blush accompanied by six equally gorgeous body guards! There is quite a range of shades here, from a deep red to shimmery coral and bright pinks.
The blushes are all cleverly named with apple themed names on the palette.
Caramel is as the name suggests a sheer golden brown colour which looks very pretty on the skin and gives a beautiful glow to the cheeks and lips. ON the lip it looks like a beautiful nude shade as it does have a touch of pink in there.
Candy is a creamy bubblegum pink that really pops and is more opaque than some of the other shades.
Pie is a deep pink which is also very pigmented but sheers out quite nicely. Its creamy and smooth to apply
Crisp is a beautiful red orange and is the only shade which has a noticeable shimmer in it. In direct light (as the first photo below) the shimmer picks up a lot of light and casts a gorgeous golden sheen to the cheeks.
Cobbler is the shade that snow white would wear, its a deep red shade that would look amazing on those with dark hair as it gives a truly flushed red pink look. On the lips it is bold and bright. Its just delicious
Cider is probably my least favourite and I haven’t yet worn in on my face but Im hoping to be pleasantly surprised. It is another nude shade which in the palette looks quite peachy.
These were all swatched quite heavily in the pictures above but rest assured that these sheer out to look very pretty on the skin. The formula looks quite hard in the pan but melts instantly as your finger touches it to create a gloriously smooth gel like product to apply to the lips and cheeks.
Against a white background you can see how pretty and vivid the colours are!
Blended into the skin you can see how gorgeously sheer and workable they (no base was used) they glide over the skin and give a gorgeous dewey look to the skin.
I absolutely love this palette and am glad that I have finally taken the plunge and (literally) dipped my fingers into this palette. I am enjoying using them on my cheeks more than my lips as I feel that they are more unique this way.
Which of these shades take your fancy??
