The Orange Lipstick Post
A few years ago I would never have dared to wear an orange hue on my lips as I was convinced that it would not suit my fair skin and dark hair.
Lately however, I have become enamoured by pops of orange and darker coral colours on my lips. Here are a few of my current faves. Some are a sheer wash of colour while others really pop and give a bright look to my makeup of the day. Generally I wear orange toned lipstick with a fairly simple face of flicked out liquid liner, mascara and flawless skin.
Some of these are swatching up with more pink than in real life but as usual, good natural light is hard to come by these days.
1. Rimmel Moisture Renew in In Love With Ginger*
In Love With Ginger is a beautiful shade of Orangey Red, the formula is super moisturising and glides on the lips.
2. Illamasqua Lipstick in Brink*
Brink is a little difficult to deal with until you get the hang of it. The formula is fairly dry and has a super matte finish. It smells wonderful and is long lasting. The opaque matte finish of Brink makes it the standout feature on your face.
3. Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Make a Wish.
This is one of my favourite beauty buys over the summer. Its a deep orange red and is very moisturising and comfortable on the lips. This looks lovely when used sheerly and also builds up to be quite bright.
4. Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti.
Tutti Frutti is a sheer and creamy pure orange. Its formula means that it is super wearable as its not too out there is extreme. Use this if you are after a sheer wash of orange on your lips.
5. Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Tease.
Tease is gorgeous. The packaging is so beautiful and glossy orange and the product inside is also beautiful. The orange shade is similar to Tutti Frutti but seems a little more muted. It looks identical to tutti frutti in this shot but in real life its a lot less pigmented than the lip butter.
