Swatches – Revlon Superlustrous lipstick
Revlon are a brand that I truly believe are under appreciated in the beauty world. While they have in recent years been thrust back into the spotlight by the introduction of the amazing matte, kissable and lacquer lip stains you still see very little written about their other products.
Chances are everybody has some Revlon in their collection and if you don’t your mum certainly will. One of the most under hyped (not really a word) products are their lipsticks. While I have become a recent convert to the MAC lipstick I find myself reaching for my Revlon Super lustrous lipsticks more often.
Revlon’s aforementioned balm stains have brought them to the attention of younger beauty lovers but the brand is still (in Australia at least) associated with an older market. Part of the reason for this is the Price point in this country. While Revlon is essentially a “drugstore” brand in the states, in Australia you can find Revlon counters or displays everywhere from Priceline and Target to Myer and David Jones, it sort of falls into that middle ground where it is not as affordable as other brands. At full price the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks retail for $21.95 in Australia compared to the US where they can be bought at the $7 to $9 mark (but that is a totally different post)
Over the years I have built up a nice little collection of what I think are essential shades that get me through all seasons of the year. I believe that I have bought all of these while they were on sale.
Here are all the basics lip looks covered; from reds to pinks, some gorgeous corals and a beautiful nude. Check out the swatches of my collection.
I love all these colours and wear them regularly.
