Stop the presses! Ive found an amazing Product!

The term Dupe gets thrown about quite a bit in the beauty blogging world. For me a dupe describes  a “drugstore” product that is of equal or higher quality to a high end, hard to find or discontinued product. And I have just discovered one… BIGTIME! Those of you who regularly read this blog will have seen the post a few months back detailing the 3 high end products that I think are completely worth their overinflated price. One of those is the expensive and hard to get Smashbox photofinish primer. There is only one brick and mortar retailer in Australia and at $55 for 30ml it can get quite expensive for a devotee like me .All other “silicone based” primers havnt really done it for me until now..

Enter the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Face Primer, I bought this on a spur on Wednesday afternoon, came home to photograph it for Instagram and decided to open it to see what it was like. Once I applied a small, pea sized ball of it to the back of my hand I knew and rubbed it in I knew!! It has the same (some say unpleasant) smell as the Smashbox primer and the same amazingly silky smooth consistency. I have been wearing it the two days since purchasing it and seriously think that it is a match for the other primer!

This primer has a slight blurring effect, that is even when worn alone it  gives the skin a dewy and more refined look. When worn with a foundation it helps to create an even base to stop your makeup from settling into fine lines and pores. If I were going to be fancy I would say that using a primer like this one is like wearing silky lingerie under your every day clothes.

Priced at approximately $15 for 25mls the Maybelline is considerably more affordable than the other primer and is also a lot easier to get a hold of.If you are a fan of the Smashbox primer I really urge you try this out and let me know what you think.
