April favourites!
April was full of treats, both for the tummy and the face. April saw me become the proud owner of some much covetted palettes and saw both my blog and Instagram reach milestone figures. I painted my nails more times than i care to admit and finally visited that Makeup lovers mecca.. the Sydney City Myer MAC counter.
There have been some new products that i have been loving this month. Please note that all these products were purchased by myself.
Here is a run down.
1. MAC Ruby Woo
This gorgeous deep red lipstick has made it onto my favourite list for many reasons, the main being the intese pigmentation and amazingly matte finish. Here is a April discovery.. MAC lipsticks smell sweet like candy! THis shade has been on my lips since i purchased it.
2. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.
This foundation became a favourite this month, I was so impressed by the finish and high end quality at Drugstore pricing. The foundation lasts well and looks amazing both with powder and without.
3. Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow palette
I had to head off overseas (ok.. only my credit card did) to get this much sought after and much reviewed little palette. Its only a little bigger than a credit card but has enough beautiful neutral colours to give you everything from a subtle natural eye to a gorgeous rich smokey eye. Pure perfection.
4. Thebalm plump your pucker lip gloss in Spike my punch.
THis delicious smelling lip gloss also has plumping properties. WOrn alone it is gorgeous and subtle, add a liner or a stain under neath and you can achieve a gorgeously glossy pop of colour.
5. MAC Prolongwear concealer
I really love this because such a little goes a long way. I have been using it on spots and imperfections but havnt gotten it work well under my eyes yet, i think i need a bit more practise. The packaging is great, i like the little pump.
6.Garnier Perfect Blur 5 sec smoothing base perfector
A pink little tube full of a product with a strange consistency, used on top of your moisteriser it makes a nice base for your foundation or simply blurs all your imperfections when worn alone. Some have compared it to Benefit’s The Porefessional but i think its different. Full review to come.
7. Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm
Imagine a little pot full of a garden of orange blossoms, This is heavily scented with hiney and orange oil, but this is not what makes this product amazing, This balm is highly nourishing, thick and comfortable on the lips. Use a little during the day to avoid chapping and a lot at night as a treatment.
And drumroll please!
What was my favourite beauty find of April?
Anyone who follows me on Instagram will have seen this.
OPI – OPI Red
This polish is by far the lovliest nail polish i have ever owned! The colour is a lush pinkish red, the formula super opaque and creamy and the finish so glossy that even without a top coat it looks like shellac. After three days of cleaning and washing and baking the polish still looked amazing (see top nail photo) I cant recommend this polish enough!
