Mini review – Thebalm INSTAIN.
Ive finally got my hands on an Instain powder blush.. I waited a long time for this one as I have way too many blushes to justify purchasing more but the idea of a long wearing blush that stains your cheeks was far too good to resist.
I purchased the blush stain in the shade Argyle which is a lovely petal pink colour with a touch of a bubblegum pop to it.
The packaging is, in a word, charming! Pretty, girly and compact I love the slimness of all of thebalm’s products as this would be super portable and convenient.
The great drawing card of this blush is its longwearing nature. After 12 hours its the only thing that is still on my face (in the right place) My powder is gone, the foundation – history and my face has supersonic shine (especially in the direct light of my camera) but the pink shade of the blush still remains. I applied just before 8 am and here it is just after 8pm and the flush of colour is still there.
This picture was taken in harsh and full light, in more subtle light my skin isn’t quite so shiny and the blush looks almost matte which is remarkable considering it was applied over 12 hours ago.
Sorry.. this is me, every bump and pore visible after 12 hours of humidity. |
This is worth the money, particularly if you are the type that expects their makeup to look good after a long day. I have no doubt that if I had of powdered during the day I could have easily headed out after work today still looking fresh.
